How Do I Add My Logo to Customer-Facing Email Messages?

Last modified October 4, 2018

This article applies to Contextual Commerce. (Looking for Classic Commerce documentation?)

By default, FastSpring automatically sends various transactional email messages to your customers, such as email receipts and notifications when a subscription charge occurs. This article provides simple instructions for adding your logo to all customer-facing email messages.

Note

To render your logo on customer-facing email messages, you will need to have the logo image file hosted somewhere externally so it can be accessed via a URL.

Note

For email messages, we recommend using a logo image no wider than 275 pixels; the default FastSpring logo image is 143 x 35.

Modify the Shared Snippet

By default, nearly all customer-facing email messages use a common heading section and a common footer section. This means you can make a header or footer change once and it have it automatically applied to all types of customer-facing email messages.

  1. In the Dashboard, click the Settings menu and then select the Customer Notifications tab.

Example of the Settings menu with the Customer Notifications tab selected

  2. On the left-hand side of the page, select Shared Snippets.

Example of the default (Order) page of the Customer Notifications tab, with the Shared Snippets link highlighted

  3. In the list of shared snippets, locate the one named {{>logo}}; you may need to scroll down to find it. Click EDIT below the {{>logo}} snippet.

  4. In the Shared Snippet dialog, delete the placeholder image URL from the Snippet Text/HTML Value field and then enter the URL for your own logo image.

    Reminder

For email messages, we recommend using a logo image no wider than 275 pixels; the default FastSpring logo image is 143 x 35.

  5. Click SAVE.

That is all it takes. Since the {{>logo}} snippet is used at the top of all message templates by default, your change will automatically affect all types of customer-facing email messages. Your change should take effect for new, live email messages within just a few minutes after saving it.
