Linking to Your Storefronts

Last modified August 16, 2017

This article explains the URLs you can use for web access to Storefronts.

There are various URLs you can use to access your FastSpring Storefront. Link to the appropriate URLs from your other websites and from social media. Notice that the links need to use the secure protocol https:// rather than http://.

Every FastSpring account has its own Store domain. In the following examples, the Store domain is "acme" and the Store has a default storefront and a "holiday" Storefront. It has products with IDs of Product1, Product2, and Product3.

The following example URLs would go to the "Homepage" of your Storefront, which displays the products you have selected in the Homepage Products settings, if your Store's base URL were "acme":

  • https://acme.onfastspring.com : Live URL for the default Storefront
  • https://acme.test.onfastspring.com : Test URL for the default Storefront
  • https://acme.onfastspring.com/holiday : Live URL for the holiday Storefront
  • https://acme.test.onfastspring.com/holiday : Test URL for the holiday Storefront

To continue the example of a Store with a base URL of "acme", the following URLs wold show the page for the "Product2" product. Product order pages show a single product with all its up-sells, cross-sells and related offers. On such product pages, the product is automatically selected / placed in the cart to speed up the ordering process.

  • https://acme.onfastspring.com/Product2 : Live URL for Product2 on the default Storefront
  • https://acme.test.onfastspring.com/Product2 : Test URL for Product2 on the default Storefront
  • https://acme.onfastspring.com/holiday/Product2 : Live URL for Product2 on the holiday Storefront
  • https://acme.test.onfastspring.com/holiday/Product2 : Test URL for Product2 on the holiday Storefront

You can also link to the Storefront with any number of GET parameters for analytics purposes - like ?_ga=... or &kmi=... which will be passed to the analytics and tracking scripts loaded on the page. GET and POST parameters will not change or affect an order flow.

You can also link to Storefronts by using an API to generate a session URL. To do that you need to use /sessions endpoint for the FastSpring API, which will generate the session id that you can append to the Storefront url (https://acme.onfastspring.com/session/{session id}), or the Store Builder Library's fastspring.builder.checkout({session id}) can be used to load the session, too.

There is no way to link to a Popup Storefront; such Storefronts can only overlay another web page using the Store Builder Library.
